Planned Parenthood Will Assist Hurricane Victims in New Mexico
For Immediate Release: Jan. 30, 2014
Albuquerque, NM — Planned Parenthood of New Mexico (PPNM) is offering assistance to victims of Hurricane Katrina who have been evacuated to the state.
The organization will provide free family planning and emergency contraceptive services to women and men from Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama who were forced to leave their homes on short notice.
"In the rush to escape Hurricane Katrina, many people probably didn't have time to grab the bare necessities," said Jenny Black, PPNM's Senior Vice President of Patient Services and Operations. "If someone from the gulf area affected by the hurricane needs our help, PPNM will do what we can to assist them."
Planned Parenthood of New Mexico has medical offices in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Santa Fe. For the nearest location, evacuees may call 1-800-230-PLAN or visit our website at www.ppnewmex.org.
