New Film from Planned Parenthood and Refinery29 Highlights the Importance of Cancer Screenings for Women
For Immediate Release: March 10, 2016
New York, NY — Today, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Refinery29 debuted a hilarious short film highlighting the importance of cancer screenings and preventive care. The film, Her Shorts: Cancer Screenings, features a woman concerned about something she feels in her breast, who enlists the women in her life for advice before deciding to get it checked out. Directed by Katherine Bernard, the short underscores the need for preventive care, as well as the importance of community and accurate health information. It encourages viewers to check in with themselves and their loved ones about prioritizing their health.
The film is part of a partnership between Planned Parenthood and Refinery29 called Her Shorts, a series of short films told through a dramatic or comedic lens that focus on reproductive and sexual health issues.
