I was wondering. Recently we had to change our clocks back to gain an hour.I started taking my birth control pill before the time change, will it affect me in anyway, will the pill stop working and will i have to start again for two weeks for it to be in my system?
A one hour difference should be okay regardless of what type of pill you use. If you’re taking a combined-hormone pill, which contains estrogen and progestin, you’re protected against pregnancy as long as you take your pill each day.
If you’re taking progestin-only pills, the pill may be less effective if you take it more than three hours later than usual. If this happens, you should use a backup method of birth control, like a latex or internal condom for the next 48 hours (two days). Check out this chart to see what to do if you forget a pill or two.
