I’m 16. Can I get birth control at Planned Parenthood without my parents permission?
In most states, teens are allowed to get birth control without their parents’ permission at their nearest Planned Parenthood health center or from their regular doctor or nurse. However, there are a few places where the rules are different. The best way to find out the deal in your area is to call your doctor or nurse or your nearest Planned Parenthood health center.
If you plan on using insurance to pay for your birth control, a statement may come in the mail showing what you used it for. If you’re worried about your privacy, you may want to pay out of pocket. Worried about the price? Many Planned Parenthood health centers offer programs to help cover the cost.
