Someone asked us: What causes painful urination in men?
Lots of things can lead to painful urination. Some common causes can include:
- Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): an infection in your urinary tract, including your bladder (what holds pee), and urethra (where pee comes out of).
- Certain STDs (like chlamydia, gonorrhea, and herpes).
- Prostatitis (when your prostate gland is inflamed).
- Problems with your kidneys (like an infection or kidney stones).
- A reaction to soaps, perfumes, and other personal care products.
If you feel pain or burning when you pee, contact your nearest Planned Parenthood health center. They can help you find out exactly what’s going on, so you can get the right treatment.
