Kate Brown, Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum and others held a press conference Monday afternoon to praise U.S. District Court Judge Michael McShane’s issuance of a nationwide injunction against a family planning regulation from the federal Department of Health and Human Services that would have taken effect May 3. McShane called the regulation a “Gag Rule” that would prohibit medical professionals from discussing abortion options with their patients and referring them to an abortion provider.
