Is there a waiting period for abortion care in Kansas?

No, there is not a waiting period. Kansas' 24 hour waiting period is currently blocked by a court ruling, so a patient can have an abortion on the same day they consult with a medical provider.

  • Abortion Procedure Visit:
    • 4-6 hours (up to 16 weeks into gestation)
    • 4-8 hours (for 18+ weeks gestation) or a two-day procedure, which would include two shorter visits
