The New Albany health center is moving!
Slated for early summer 2020, the New Albany health center will upgrade to a new location that will be able to accommodate an expanded schedule of five days a week and an increased patient volume. The new location will also be more centrally located in New Albany.
“The new location will be a large improvement over our current clinic; larger more patient-friendly spaces, comfortable exam rooms with space for nurse practitioners to work effectively, meeting spaces for staff and community, and space to expand services. Possibilities include ultrasound care and telehealth services,” explained Laura Miller, Area Services Director with PPINK.
“The clinic we are working at right now is tiny. We are all looking forward to more space to help the flow of our clinic,” said New Albany Health Center Manager Christi Cross. She said staff have been asking for an expanded space to be able to better serve the community, and the New Albany Planned Parenthood staff are ecstatic that the move is happening.
Cross mentioned that prescriptions and counseling for PREP, and pre- and post- abortion care, will be among new services added.
Both Miller and Cross expressed gratitude towards the support of the local community. “We couldn't do it without our patients and supporters; they are the reason we are moving to offer more hours and services,” said Miller.
