There are currently 17 cases* about abortion that are just one step away from the Supreme Court, and any one of those cases could result in a significant impact on abortion access and a curtailment of Roe v. Wade. (*The link includes a description of 18 cases, but Whole Woman’s Health et al. V. Ken Paxton et. al. has been since decided in the sixth circuit).
These multiple threats to Roe v Wade include five abortion bans, some as early as 6 weeks of pregnancy (before many women know they are pregnant), as well as bans based on abortion method and based on the person's reason for seeking an abortion.
Planned Parenthood will continue to monitor these cases and will be proactive should the Supreme Court decided to hear them.
You can follow along with updates from the Planned Parenthood Action Fund web site to see how abortion rights will be fought for on the federal level, as well as follow updates on the state and local levels from Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest and Hawai'i and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Indiana and Kentucky.
