Planned Parenthood Great Plains Hosts Two-Day Vasectomy Clinic in Kansas City, Kansas, with Low-Cost Care Available
For Immediate Release: May 23, 2024
Planned Parenthood Great Plains (PPGP) will host a two-day vasectomy clinic at its Kansas City, Kansas health center, on May 30 and 31, to expand access to essential reproductive health care services including a highly-effective, permanent form of contraception.
With a greater than 99 percent effectiveness rate, a vasectomy is a permanent, non-reversible form of contraception. This simple procedure is done in a single outpatient appointment at PPGPs Kansas City, Kansas location. Patients will have a consultation with the provider before their procedure.
Planned Parenthood Great Plains is committed to offering affordable care options for patients by accepting most major insurances and offering financial assistance. Patients can expect to pay as little as $250, but no more than $750 for a vasectomy during this clinic. Those interested in receiving financial assistance for the procedure should call ahead to see if they qualify.
"Providing accessible reproductive and sexual health care is at the core of our mission to empower individuals to lead healthy, autonomous lives," said Dr. Iman Alsaden, chief medical officer at Planned Parenthood Great Plains. "This vasectomy clinic is an essential addition to our services in Kansas City, offering a vital family planning option that helps people make informed choices and prevent unintended pregnancies."
Located at 6013 Leavenworth Road, PPGP’s Kansas City, Kansas health center serves patients around the Kansas City metro and beyond to meet the growing patient needs throughout the region. PPGP also has health centers in Overland Park and Wichita, that provide a range of services including medical and surgical abortion, birth control, STI and HIV testing and treatment, emergency contraception (morning-after pill), pregnancy testing and services, and gender-affirming care.
PPGP recently announced that they will be expanding access into southeast Kansas this fall, opening a health center in Pittsburg. The Pittsburg Health Center will provide services including abortion (medication and procedural), contraception, emergency contraception (morning-after pill), STI and HIV testing and treatment, and pregnancy testing and services.
PPGP launched vasectomy services last year at its Tulsa, Oklahoma health center and has since expanded to hosting clinics throughout its four-state region which also encompasses Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri.
