Planned Parenthood Celebrates National Adoption Awareness Month
For Immediate Release: Nov. 1, 2017
COLUMBUS, OH — Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio celebrates National Adoption Awareness Month, honoring birth mothers and fathers and celebrating families across Ohio. Deciding whether to raise a child, choose adoption, or end a pregnancy is a difficult decision, and Planned Parenthood is proud to offer options counseling to every patient who discovers she is pregnant. Through this counseling, women and their families are offered education, resources, and referrals to help them reach the decision that is right for them.
Planned Parenthood is proud to partner with Choice Network, an adoption organization dedicated to helping women navigate their choices for pregnancy without judgment. Pregnant women are able to chat with a representative from Choice Network at any of Planned Parenthood’s 19 health centers and receive the support they need and deserve.
Statement from Nicole Evans, PPGOH Chief Marketing and Communications Officer:
“In 2010, 55 percent of all pregnancies in Ohio were unintended. Planned Parenthood stands with these women and their families as they plan their next steps, offering the necessary information for them to make informed decisions.
“We are fortunate to have a relationship with Choice Network. Women are now able to connect with a counselor in our health centers and learn about all their options. At Planned Parenthood, we support every individual and celebrate birth mothers and adoptive families as they commit to a culture that nurtures happy and healthy children.”
Across Ohio, Planned Parenthood is dedicated to serving all Ohioans with the care and compassion they need and deserve. Through health services and education programs, Planned Parenthood reaches thousands of individuals each week, sharing the fact-based, medically accurate information they have come to expect.
Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio operates 19 health centers, and offers services including birth control counseling, vital cancer screenings, well-woman exams, and sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment. PPGOH offers services regardless of a patient’s economic level, race, gender, sexual orientation, and/or immigration status.
