Volunteer
Volunteers play a vital role in advancing our mission. We need volunteers to assist in health centers, public affairs, fundraising, education and training, community outreach, and administration. Whether you have a couple hours each week, or a couple hours once in a while, we'll work together to find the right fit and schedule for you!
If you are looking to volunteer on a regular, scheduled basis in one of our health centers or administrative offices, please complete the Volunteer Application and our Human Resources Department will contact you to discuss your interests and our orientation program.
Patient Advocacy
The Health Center Advocacy Program (HCAP) is a patient-to-advocate engagement program where PPHP volunteers engage guests in waiting rooms of some of our health centers on issues/campaigns that impact the community and provide opportunities for people to get involved. Campaigns include voter registration drives, sharing information about how to uplift community voices, and education on other legislative issues.
Interested in becoming an HCAP volunteer? Sign up for an upcoming HCAP Information Session to learn more about the program and how you can get involved.
Community Outreach Volunteer
Community Outreach Volunteers receive unique training opportunities before taking on a leadership role in representing PPHP. Be the first to know about upcoming events, community outreach opportunities and volunteer needs.
If you love talking about reproductive rights, Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, and meeting people in the community, this opportunity is for you! Sign up for one of our info sessions to learn more.
Internship Opportunities
The Advocacy and Government Relations Department has a variety of internship opportunities in areas including legislative advocacy, government relations, community organizing, and outreach/engagement opportunities. Roles and responsibilities are developed based on department needs and in collaboration with the internship candidate based on their interests, skills, and strengths. Opportunities for college credit or stipends are available. See our current internship positions.
Campus Involvement
Are you a college student looking to get more involved on your campus? Planned Parenthood has nationwide programs that aim to educate and inspire a new generation of young adults to advocate reproductive freedom. Students organize events on campus to raise public awareness, educate their peers, work with local Planned Parenthood health centers, and assist in making sexual health a public health and cultural imperative. PPHP’s local student groups are at Stony Brook University, Sarah Lawrence College, Pace University, and Purchase College. If you attend one of these schools, or are interested in starting an organization on your campus, please email [email protected] for more information.
