TIPS
Through our Teen Information and Peer Services (TIPS) program, we work with teens in Westchester, Rockland, and Suffolk counties to become peer sex educators.
TIPS is an after-school program that gives high school students the opportunity to become leaders in their community and experts on sexual and reproductive health. TIPSters will learn and teach about:
- Reproductive Justice
- Birth Control
- Safer Sex
- Consent
- Advocacy
- College Preparation
- Mental Health
- Social Issues Affecting Young People
Each fall, TIPS participants are trained to be peer educators, which means they get to go into classrooms and teach their peers about critical topics. TIPSters also have a unique opportunity to:
- participate in community events such as donation drives, career and college fairs, and outreach events
- travel to Albany to talk to state officials about ways to support their communities
-
receive community service hours for participation.
