PPIL's Expert Sexual Health Education
Planned Parenthood of Illinois offers a variety of education services that can be tailored to your needs. We also offer free or sliding scale education.
Youth programming
PPIL has education programming for 7th to 12th grades. We do in-person and virtual learning for schools, after school groups, and summer programs.
Sexual health topics we cover include:
- Healthy relationships: Healthy communication, building health relationships, consent, setting and respecting boundaries, relationship abuse, sexual violence
- Reproductive and sexual healthcare: Healthcare rights, healthcare options, accessing healthcare, birth control healthcare, condoms, STI healthcare, pregnancy options, reproductive anatomy
- Identity and Empowerment: Sexual orientation, gender identity, supporting and affirming others, anti bullying, positive body image
University and college students programming
PPIL works with college peer health educators and offers session for college classes, clubs or groups.
Topics we cover include:
- What is PPIL and what services do we offer
- Reproductive health topics, such as abortion, birth control, STIs, accessing healthcare
- Healthy relationships, consent, abuse, sexual violence
Professionals in community health, community-based organizations, faith-based groups
PPIL offers sessions for professionals or faith-based groups who work with young people and community members and want to improve their knowledge and skills for teaching or having conversations about sexual and reproductive health.
Topics we cover include:
- Supporting LGBTQ+ Youth
- Healthy relationships, abuse and sexual violence
- Supporting people accessing reproductive healthcare: Birth control healthcare, STI healthcare, pregnancy options
- Overview of PPIL services and types of sexual and reproductive health care
- Current state of abortion access
Parents and Guardians
We offer Real Talk sessions for groups of parents looking to build confidence and skills when talking to their kids about sex and sexuality
