2020 has been tough.
In an effort to practice gratefulness, we asked our staff to share what they've felt thankful for during the COVID pandemic. Here's what they said:
- I’m thankful for drive-in theaters and I’m thankful that I can still watch new movies when they come out, either in the comfort of my own home, or in my car, at a distance from others. – Chantal, Events Coordinator
- I’m thankful for the friends and family who have stayed present in my life. They’ve helped keep me sane even if we can only communicate through texting and video calls. – Ernesto, Development Assistant
- I’m thankful that I still have a job and therefore, am able to continue caring for my parents. – Mario, Director of Partnerships
- I am thankful for the security of my job and a roof over my head. – Cheri, Interim VP of Public Affairs
- I’m especially grateful for my health and the health of my loved ones, the many arduous hikes, and our collective awakening. – Jay, Grassroots Organizer
- I’m thankful for my family and their support with my baby as I work from home. – Erica, Volunteer Services Coordinator
- I'm grateful for the meaningful phone and FaceTime calls with family and friends. I’ve come to appreciate my loved ones so much more! – Stefanie, Development Administrative & Research Manager
- I’m thankful for my best friend sharing her home office with me, online shopping, and for our volunteers/interns who have pivoted with us to virtual and distance outreach. – Daela, Director of Public Affairs
- I’m thankful for my roommates, who are both also good friends of mine. I truly can't imagine how depressing it would be to quarantine alone. – Mark, Senior Designer
- I’m especially thankful for my three-year-old nephew who puts a smile on my face every day. – Melissa, Digital Strategist
