“Ten years ago, my partner and I were homeless, and he found a small lump in my breast. Having been a patient of Planned Parenthood my entire adult life, I knew where to go.
I was immediately referred for a mammogram and subsequent biopsy, at no cost to me.
All had to do was get there.
By the time I got the diagnosis, we had gotten into an apartment, so I was able to undergo the mastectomy and reconstruction very quickly.
I am very grateful that I was taken care of so quickly because I was then able to provide the care my partner needed, as he was suffering from advanced colon cancer at the same time.
We both survived and are now thriving in our new lives.
Thank you!”
