PPMM Storyteller Kimberly, shares her story.
Many years ago, Planned Parenthood SAVED MY LIFE!
I was living in Alaska and my health insurance did not cover OB/GYN care within our state. So, I went to PP for my routine exam. This led to an abnormal pap smear. PP was there and an affordable way for me to receive these services.
So please remember, PP isn't just about mammograms and abortions, it is a way for millions of women to receive routine health care, treatment of chronic illness, and lab tests. As a registered nurse, I thank God every day that Planned Parenthood was there to save me for the benefit of myself, my children, and the patients I currently serve.
PPMM Storyteller Kelly, shares her story.
When I was 21, PP saved my life by detecting an abnormal pap smear, allowing me to get treated and live cancer- free. I'm now 46 and have raised a terrific daughter. I want her, and all women, to have access to the life-saving medical care that Planned Parenthood provides.
PPMM Storyteller Deborah from Santa Cruz County, shares her story.
When I was in my twenties, I was working and going to school. My Pap smears were done at Planned Parenthood. I had a series of irregular Paps.
They did biopsies and finally found that I was OK. All of this was done professionally, with kindness and for free. My outcome was positive, but others may not have been so lucky. I was fortunate that Planned Parenthood provided my exams and contraception for free (or for a reduced fee) when I didn't have insurance. I will always be thankful for Planned Parenthood services when I needed them.
