Planned Parenthood Health Centers Open New Hours in Central Mass.
For Immediate Release: Jan. 30, 2014
Schedule changes convenient for patients throughout region.
WORCESTER — Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts (PPLM) announced today that its Central Massachusetts health centers are offering new, more convenient hours for its patients. PPLM’s four health centers in the region provide affordable, high-quality, non-judgmental care to women, men and young people.
Planned Parenthood has offered comprehensive family planning services to the residents of Central Massachusetts since opening its first health center in Worcester in 1982. In 2010, the organization increased its investment in the health of Central Massachusetts residents by opening three additional health centers in Fitchburg, Marlborough and Milford. PPLM offers subsidized family planning services for low-income patients based on Federal Poverty Level (FPL) guidelines.
“We are proud to be a trusted source of care in Central Massachusetts. We are committed to ensuring every person has access to sexual and reproductive health care, preventive services, and educational resources, no matter what,” said Marty Walz, Chief Executive Officer for PPLM.
Women, men and young people throughout Central Massachusetts can rely on Planned Parenthood for family planning services including gynecological care, breast and cervical cancer screenings, birth control, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and sexual health information. New hours include evening and weekend availability, ensuring that at least one regional health center is now open every day Monday through Saturday.
Hours are as follows:
Worcester Health Center – Mon 8:00am-7:15pm; Tues 8:00am-3:45pm; Wed 8:00am-7:15pm; Thurs 8:00am-7:15pm; Fri 8:00am-5:00pm; Sat 8:00am-3:15pm
Fitchburg Health Center – Mon 10:00am-4:00pm; Thurs 10:00am-7:30pm
Marlborough Health Center – Wed 10:00am-7:30pm; Sat 10:00am-3:00pm
Milford Health Center – Tues 10:00am-7:30pm; Fri 10:00am-4:00pm
On average Massachusetts women wait 41 days for an appointment with an OB/GYN. In contrast, Planned Parenthood health centers can offer appointments within a week, and often the same day. Some services are available on a walk-in basis. For more information, or to make an appointment visit www.pplm.org/appointments or call 877-686-5772.
