Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern New Jersey is proud to celebrate Disability Pride Month this July. We are thrilled to recognize the diversity within the disability community this month and reaffirm our commitment to making health care more inclusive and accessible for all.
Disability Pride Month takes place every July because on July 26, 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law. This legislation ensured that people with disabilities have equal access to transportation, employment, public services, and more.
This year’s theme for Disability Pride Month is “We Want a Life Like Yours.” From The Arc’s National Council of Self-Advocates, this theme encompasses the work still to be done to create a truly equitable and accessible world, within health care and beyond.

At PPNCSNJ, we are dedicated to ensuring every patient can thrive and every community can achieve its full health potential. We are proud to serve and support our patients with disabilities in our health centers, through our sex education efforts, and in all our work.
