Did you know that every other month, Planned Parenthood of Orange & San Bernardino Counties (PPOSBC) hosts free two-day virtual trainings for high school youths and young adults to learn more about sexual and reproductive health? This enables them to become trusted sources of medically accurate information for their friends, family, and community. Each two-day session is filled with fun activities that spark discussions and share essential information about bodies, health, and rights.
Our Peer Health Educator Trainings are designed to be a safe space for young people to learn the basics of sexual and reproductive health. They are filled with engaging activities that foster discussion and provide vital information about bodies, health, and rights. Young people love these trainings for the positive learning environment they provide, as one participant shared, "I loved the presentations overall; the speakers were amazing and entertaining! I would definitely recommend it and come again." Participants also appreciate the supportive and inclusive environment, with one stating, "The facilitators were very interactive and informative. I really appreciated them. They felt very approachable, making the space feel safe and comfortable."
Only four more Peer Health Educator Trainings remain in this school year. Attendees will receive four hours of community service (as applicable), a certificate of completion, and opportunities for future involvement with PPOSBC.
