Women in our Young Mothers Program were participants in a class with Aja — a youth-photography empowerment non-profit — to explore social change through their own art.
Over the course of 8 sessions, the women learned about photographic techniques, how to communicate their personal ideas, and the history of using images to inspire social change.
They collaborated on a final project: an installation of mobile photography to be used in their health advocacy work.
It was inspiring to see our young mothers’ beautiful photographs — including pictures of their children — and to witness their burgeoning photographic talents, enthusiasm, and powerful messaging.
We’re so proud of them — and grateful to Aja for their amazing program!
