DENVER, CO — Tonight, the U.S. Senate failed to pass a so-called “skinny repeal” of the Affordable Care Act. Included in this failed attempt was the measure to “defund” Planned Parenthood.
“For the last few months, we have marched, called, rallied, posted, shared, and given our all to stop this action, and trust us when we tell you: it made a difference. This fight isn't over yet, as there is still so much work to do to protect care in our communities. The women, men, young people, LGBTQ folks, service members, and Americans as a whole deserve better. We will fight tooth and nail every day to stand up for the rights and health care of folks who rely on us as their trusted provider and their safe place to turn. We have been here for over 100 years and we will not go back,” said Vicki Cowart, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.
