We understand you may have questions about how Florida’s restrictions on gender-affirming care impact your appointment. Please review the FAQ.

Can I get in-person care at any of your health centers?

The first visit for gender-affirming care will have to be in person with a physician. We offer in-person gender-affirming care at our Gainesville, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Treasure Coast, Florida Mango (West Palm Beach), Golden Glades (Miami), and Kendall health centers. Patients will be required to sign a consent form issued by the Board of Medicine.

Can I receive gender-affirming care via telehealth?

During your in-person visit, your physician will discuss whether your follow up visit can be done via telehealth.

Do I still have to sign the state-issued consent form to receive care?

Any new patients will have to sign the state-issued consent form. If you are an existing patient and have already signed the form in a previous in-person visit, you will have to sign it again if there is a change in your treatment or medication.

Important Update: On August 26, 2024, a U.S. Appeals Court blocked a lower court’s order that allowed for expanded access of gender-affirming care in Florida. The most recent ruling now reinstates Florida’s restrictions on gender-affirming care. At Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida, we believe everyone, regardless of gender identity or expression has a right to access health care and make decisions about their own bodies, lives, and futures. We will continue to monitor updates to care and work to continue to care for all our patients in compliance with the law.
