West Palm Beach— Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America's largest independent charity evaluator for the seventh consecutive year.
Only 2% of charities have received at least 7 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America. This “exceptional” designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.
“We are proud to continually execute our mission in a conscientious way that meets the needs of women, men and families in our community,” said Lillian A. Tamayo, President/CEO of Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast, Inc. “This is a testament to the exceptional skills of our staff and the efficiency of our programs.”
Founded in 2001, Charity Navigator is the nation's largest evaluator of charities. Charity Navigator's rating system examines two broad areas of a charity's financial health — how responsibly it functions day to day and how well positioned it is to sustain its programs over time. Each charity is then awarded an overall rating, ranging from zero to four stars.
As the nonprofit sector continues to grow at an unprecedented pace, savvy donors are demanding more accountability, transparency and quantifiable results from the charities they choose to support with their hard-earned dollars. In this competitive philanthropic marketplace, Charity Navigator highlights the fine work of efficient charities such as Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast and provides donors with essential information needed to give them greater confidence in the charitable choices they make.
