Planned Parenthood Receives Four Star Rating for Sixth Consecutive Year from Charity Navigator
For Immediate Release: May 19, 2014
West Palm Beach - Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America's largest independent charity evaluator for the sixth consecutive year.
Receiving four out of a possible four stars from Charity Navigator indicates that an organization excels, as compared to other charities in America, in successfully managing the finances of the organization in an efficient manner. Only 2 percent of the charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least 6 consecutive 4-star evaluations.
“We are proud to consistently execute our mission in a fiscally responsible way that outperforms most other charities in America,” said Lillian A. Tamayo, President/CEO of Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast, Inc. “This is a testament to the exceptional skills of our staff and the efficiency of our programs.”
Founded in 2001, Charity Navigator is the nation's largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities. Charity Navigator's rating system examines two broad areas of a charity's financial health -- how responsibly it functions day to day and how well positioned it is to sustain its programs over time. Each charity is then awarded an overall rating, ranging from zero to four stars. An estimated four million donors used the site each year.
